This coming Friday, 6th March, you can catch me playing at an excellent night in Bristol called WaxOnWaxOff, which takes place at a great little venue called Chesters on Frogmore Street. I had a wicked time at the last WO:WO (just as a punter) so I’m reallly looking forward to this one.
The music policy is a heady mixture of fat breaks and twisty psytrance, so of course I’ll be concentrating on psybreaks 🙂
Shimon (RAM/FingerLickin) is headlining, with support from Dexter Styles, Mishima and Tethis. It runs 10pm-4am and admission is only £2 b4 11, £4 after.

If you’re in the Southampton area get yourselves down to The Hobbit on Saturday 31st January where I’m playing at a night called Psychedelic Saturday. All psy-styles are represented from the 60s to now, but with an emphasis on the more modern and danceable stuff 🙂 I’ll be playing…well…the psy edge of what I normally play, ie psy-breaks, psy-trance, psy-techno, psy-wonk, psy-dnb… you get the picture… should be an awesome party 🙂 Music runs 8pm – 1am, it’s free entry before 10pm, £2 after, and the bar stays open until 3. Finally, here are the recordings of my sets from the Void vs Brap Tour in Southampton and Bristol, way back through the mists of time in November 2008. I haven’t listened back to these in full yet, I hope they’re ok!
The Southampton gig was loads of fun, not least because most of the tunes I played I’d bought only a few hours before the gig, so they were almost as new to me as the punters. There was a great atmosphere on the dancefloor for my whole set. So yeah I got carried away and played a really lame remix of What Time Is Love, but these things happen sometimes…
The Bristol gig was an odd one from the DJ’s perspective: inside a pub, mid-afternoon, low volume, speakers in front of the DJ projecting away and no monitors, so basically I couldn’t hear the main mix at all, yet somehow I seem to have pulled off a reasonable quality of mixing; possibly even better than Southampton’s where I occasionally got a bit lost in the moment…
I wasn’t in charge of recording these so they’re only 128k, sorry. But the quality is pretty reasonable.
